Reporting from the Uncanny Valley
Local News, AI, Tech & Culture Reporting
Reporting from the Uncanny Valley is an independent newsroom in Dutchess County, New York, covering artificial intelligence policy, Hudson Valley local news, and regional public safety. Based between Poughkeepsie and Fishkill, we publish daily reporting on AI and tech accountability, municipal government, and police and court coverage across the mid-Hudson Valley; plus three original news podcasts. Our journalism answers one question: how does emerging technology actually change the communities we live in?

Stream On: Podcasting 2.0 Player
Stream On is a minimalist podcast player that keeps your shows playing in one continuous playlist. Add an RSS feed or individual episodes, and it stitches them into a single queue that keeps going without making you hunt for what comes next. No login, no tracking, no clutter. Just your shows, lined up for a commute, a workday, or a long listening session. Built for people who want to choose what they hear and stay in control, without account walls, algorithmic suggestions, or an overflowing library getting in the way.
Binge Off: Retro-style Streaming Player
Binge Off is a retro-style TV player for short, intentional breaks. Choose Quick Hit for one video or pick a timed break of 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45, or 60 minutes. Hand-picked clips play until your time is up. Then the TV signs off, the screen darkens, and playback stops. A cooldown blocks an immediate restart. No login, no tracking, no autoplay. Just a finite dose of entertainment for a pause between tasks, a predictable screen window, or a moment to reset before getting back to the rest of your day. Watch and move on.
