No new Dutchess County arrest releases were issued today. Today's blotter covers a State Police fraud arrest out of East Fishkill and a fatal-crash indictment in neighboring Ulster County.
East Fishkill | State Police Fraud Arrest
State Police in Wappinger arrested Shakeema L. Winters, 38, of Poughkeepsie, on October 13, 2026, following a fraud investigation in the town of East Fishkill. Troopers say the investigation began in May 2026 after a private business in East Fishkill received customer complaints that payments for services were never reaching the business. Police allege Winters, an employee, collected customer payments through a personal account rather than the business's authorized payment system and received more than $4,000 from multiple victims.
Winters is charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony, and criminal impersonation in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor. She was released on her own recognizance and is due in Town of East Fishkill Court on November 4, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
