Friday Night in Dutchess: Week 4 Scoreboard

High school football teams across Dutchess County and the surrounding region were back on the field Friday, October 2, for Week 4. The Poughkeepsie Journal compiled results from a full evening of games, with scores reported from nine matchups across both 11-man and eight-man divisions. The night’s final margins ran the full range, from shutouts to shootouts.
Friday, October 2 Results
Ketcham 12, Mount Vernon 0. Ketcham came away with a clean shutout, and according to the Poughkeepsie Journal, all 12 points were accounted for by one player. Joseph Marucci scored twice for the Indians, once receiving and once rushing.
Beacon 63, New Paltz 34. Beacon and New Paltz combined for 97 points in a high-scoring affair, with Beacon taking the win by a wide margin, the Journal reported.
Scarsdale 22, Arlington 13. Scarsdale handled Arlington in a closer game, winning by nine, according to the Journal.
Wallkill 21, FDR 7. Wallkill was steady against FDR, putting the game away by three scores, the Journal reported.
Highland 31, Dover 14. Highland beat Dover by 17, a result that kept plenty of distance between the two teams, according to the Journal.
Lourdes 52, Warwick 35. Another high-scoring game, with Lourdes topping Warwick by 17 in a back-and-forth evening on the scoreboard, the Journal reported.
John Jay 41, Yonkers 3. John Jay had little trouble with Yonkers, pulling away for a comfortable 38-point win, according to the Journal.
Eight-Man Football
Pawling 62, Pine Plains/Rhinebeck 20. Pawling dominated in the eight-man game, winning by 42 points, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
Taconic Hills 22, Millbrook 8. Taconic Hills beat Millbrook 22-8 in the other eight-man matchup, the Journal reported.
Midseason Picture
With Week 4 complete, the Journal noted that programs are at or approaching the midpoint of the regular season, and the postseason picture is beginning to take shape. Sectional positioning will become a more pressing concern over the coming weeks as teams settle into the back half of the schedule.
Saturday in Dutchess: October 3
Not all of Week 4 fell on Friday. According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, three area games are scheduled for Saturday, October 3. Those are listed below as fixtures, not results.
Marlboro at Red Hook, 1 p.m.
Poughkeepsie at Burke Catholic, 1 p.m.
Spackenkill at Chester, 7 p.m.
