Thursday’s Dutchess County check turned up one verified item: a Sheriff’s Office release reporting an active investigation and a road closure in the Town of Rhinebeck.
Rhinebeck: Route 9G Closed for Investigation
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reported Thursday that there is an incident under investigation in the Town of Rhinebeck. Route 9G between Route 308 and Route 9 is closed for the investigation. Motorists are urged to avoid that area until further notice.
The Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency in the investigation and is being assisted by the New York State Police. As of Thursday evening, the Sheriff’s Office had not released the nature of the incident or any other details. The agency said more information will be provided as the investigation progresses.
The Daily Catch reported Thursday afternoon that traffic in both directions along that stretch of Route 9G had been closed throughout the middle of the afternoon and was expected to remain closed for several hours longer as the investigation continued.
