Imre Pallo last conducted the Hudson Valley Philharmonic in 1991. On November 21, he returns to that podium. The Hudson Valley Symphony Orchestra opens its 2026-2027 Philharmonic Season that Saturday afternoon with Pallo conducting, according to BroadwayWorld. The concert, titled Philharmonic I: Symphony and Song, begins at 3 PM at Christ Episcopal Church in Poughkeepsie.

BroadwayWorld describes the occasion as a homecoming for Pallo. He held the music director post with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic from 1976 to 1991, a fifteen-year tenure. The role was his first full-time job after he moved to New York in 1974. Thirty-five years separate that final performance with the ensemble from his return on November 21.

The opening program honors that history from its first notes. Richard Wilson composed Fanfare for Imre in Pallo's honor, and the concert opens with the world premiere of that work. Rossini's overture to La scala di seta follows. Mozart's Symphony No. 40 in G minor, K. 550 closes the orchestral portion of the afternoon.

Soprano Aubry Ballaro and baritone Luis Ledesma also appear on the bill. The two soloists join the orchestra for arias and duets. According to BroadwayWorld, their selections draw from Verdi's Rigoletto and La Traviata.
